B3 will extend trading hours for gold and cryptocurrencies

According to Folha, B3 will extend the trading hours for gold futures contracts andcryptocurrency assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, to 12 hours perday. Currently, these assets are traded during regular market hours, from 10 a.m. to6 p.m. The adjustment will be implemented in two phases. The first phase,scheduled to begin on March 9, will expand trading hours for gold andcryptocurrencies to 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The second phase, starting on April 20, willfurther extend trading until 8 p.m., establishing a 12-hour daily trading window forthese products and their respective rollovers, from Monday to Friday. According toMr. Luiz Masagão, Vice President of Products and Clients at B3, the decision tolengthen trading hours reflects investor demand for greater flexibility to tradeoutside traditional business hours.
